pic is from here.

Answer on your particular question:
Yes they do have the courage.
The Kedungombo victims did say something to a journalist over the late Indonesian Second President recently after he died (or shall I say passed away?).
You might miss that one, girl.
But to overly condemn someone and trying to forget the good deed which were inevitably obvious, I think is not the most correct thing to do.
There is nothing absolute being a human being, everything is gray. Whiter shade of black. Blacker shade of white.

Noone is a pure saint nor a pure devil.
Except the saint and the devil themselves.
If you think that a human being should be flawless, then you'll be creating a new God.

===> Ndoro: I read that exact quote in KOMPAS today. I thought you are working for another newspaper ?

Proportional is the answer, something that is so difficult to do, people love to hide information because they thought information is power.

Nana, pardon my over commenting here. LOL

From what I observe in many forum and Indonesian television broadcast, there is a huge switch of opinion towards Soeharto, so I think the notion that he's been overtly condemned is not 100% correct. Heck, it may even be the opposite. I often feel like I'm offending half of Indonesian population when I mention in various fora that "forgiving doesn't necessary means forgetting". I become the public enemy.

Justice has prevailed for Soeharto and his family -- they're practically untouchable, unless if you want to count Tommy's brief moment in prison, which is a big joke. On the other hand, I doubt that the families and friends of the victims of Tanjung Priok, the Petisi 50 group, etc., can sincerely mourn over Soeharto's death.
