riel
i have never seen any cambodian coin. i even have been made to believe that this country has no coin money. which is, i think, completely untrue.
riel, cambodian local currency, that comes in hundred, thousand, two thousand, five thousand and ten thousand bills is used on daily transaction, however, in siem reap, where i currently live, us dollar is more widely used on day to day transaction. in the mall (yes, siem reap has one!), beauty salons, massage parlors, markets, street vendors .. including for transaction after your tuk tuk ride! two dollar, lady! sir!
riel is pretty stable against us dollar. most of the times, in most places, one us dollar is four thousand riel. so you really don't have to bother to change your money to local currency when your travel ever bring you here!
want to know how much my favorite meat balls soup costs me? one use dollar and a thousand riel! and yup! one and a quarter us dollar! easy like sunday morning!
If you want to buy real estate, you will have to get the personal loans. Moreover, my father commonly uses a college loan, which seems to be really fast.
