talking about our so called foe is indeed easy. we can have a long list of their negativity in a split second.
foes? who are they?
foes are not necessarily our direct ones. sadly. for many of times our foes are not actually ours, may at times foes that become ours because we are told they are. because what they do are against our belief. because what they exercise is against our life values. because what they execute is definitely not something that we will likely do.
A sad fact.
that is why i come to loving munich. mr. spielberg, for you I hope I had several spare thumbs to compliment your work!
munich is for me not about who the true felons are. those Palestinians who killed the 11 israeli athletes or those mossad guys ordered to kill those palestinians?
the movie, despite the various news coverage on the ill fated night of september 5, 1972, in its opening scenes, is not busily showing us the justifications for the mossad guys to go killing those palestinians, what the palestinians’ demands are, nor the motives behind the killing.
though the movie is indeed subtly talking about the palestine great effort for freedom and the israelis to get even after what has happened on september 5, 1972, but bottom of line this movie communicates about human. the inner uneasiness among the mossad guys. about the killing, the vengeance. fears, worries, anxiety. and thousand of questions like what are they going to accomplish after killing all those palestinians? what are they going to feel afterward? shall they kill the successor of those they have killed?
that is our tragedy: butchers' hands, and gentle souls.
back to my point above. how many of times our blind belief, our beyond logic and thinking belief has crippled us, has prevented us from thinking other than the negativity of others. and where has that brought us to?
one helluva brilliant movie not to miss! but not if you want to see the ever on going conflict between palestine and israel!
