try to wear my shoes for a change!

i went to kuta last night to buy a gift for one of my two bosses who will leave the country next week. to make the story short, i bought a pair of mont blanc fountain pens. almost 5 million rups. but worry not, the company will reimburse me later haha.

i was pulling out my credit card to pay for it, when the cashier asked me, "credit card?" hell yes, isn't it obvious?

she explained to me that she needed to reconfirm to the credit card center and asked me to wait. i was a bit confused cause she actually swiped my card and has got the print out from the edc machine, so why did she bother to call the CCC?

i just shrugged and waited. i was in a rush but i thought it would be only a 5 mins waiting.

but it dragged on, she seemed so busy talking to i do not know who she talked with and abou-what. i kept waiting close to the cashier counter, a bit embarassed cause people started to stare at me.

after some hell-yeah-about-20-mins of waiting, she talked to me that the one she talked with over the phone, wanted to talk to me. she explained in very long sentences, blah blah blah.

i grabbed the phone and talked to a man who wanted to know my mother's maiden name, my ID card number, my addresses. whaaatt da ... is it all about? i gave him all the information he needed and asked him afterward, "since when did payment with credit card turn to be this complicated?" and yeaah i got another blah blah blah about credit card fraud, about the bank issuer of my credit card is a foreign bank blah blah blah. my.

then he wanted to talk to the cashier again. they talked for some more minutes. and yep, kept me waiting. then she was off the phone and tried to apologize with ... *sigh* .... another long blah blah blah. i just sort of, "wait, can i use the cc to pay or not? she said, "yes"

oh my. you swiped my card, you got the print out, just asked to me sign and we could go on with our life.

simple eh?

sometimes, you need to see if your customer needs an explanation or rather not to discuss it any further but to go on. i believe so.

what do you think?

wetset! kalo dia nanya2 mother's maiden name, tgl expired, etc... bisa jadi mau dipake konfirmasi transaksi online tuh. cek lagi record transaksi kamu. jangan2 kartumu sudah "dipake" sama mereka. ati2 lho. mending dimatiin aja sekalian itu kartu.

btw, leot ini warnanya lembut, tapi kurang kontras, bikin sakit mata.
